RL studied classical painting techniques at the Slade art school and National Gallery London. Later on, sponsored by the Doxiadis Foundation, RL accrued an impressive list of international galleries and celebrity patrons alongside occasional side projects for film directors such as Hugh Hudson and Ridley Scott.
After 50 years of work, while now a Maestro, he is widely acknowledged as the principal originator in the classic "contemporary impressionist" art genre.
